Roster

There are some 77 passenger cars at the Illinois Railway Museum but only about 55 of that number fall under the direct care of the Passenger Car Department. Each of those cars under the direct management of the Passenger Car Department will be listed here along with service histories, vintage photos, builder photos and data, significance to the IRM collection, operation at IRM if any, and restoration progress with images and input from volunteers.

It’s going to take time to build this archive but it is the goal of this site to develop a digital archive and a record of preservation and/or restoration for each car in the IRM Passenger Car Department.
